”I first met Dave at the Seattle Pro Sports Club where my husband and I were members for many years. I signed up for a holiday 10K run and Dave was one of the coaches helping us train for the event. He was positive, encouraging and professional. When I later enrolled in a weight-loss/wellness program at the gym, I asked Dave to be my personal trainer. We worked out three days a week for ten weeks and it was hard! My focus was on losing weight and gaining muscle – which I did to the tune of losing 20 pounds of fat and gaining three pounds of muscle. After the program ended, I have continued to train with Dave to this day.
Dave is the opposite of a cookie-cutter trainer; I don’t think I’ve done the exact same workout twice. He is flexible, creative, and individualizes workouts to any goals or physical issues I identify. I trust him to challenge me, to be consistent and to make things fun.
Even after years of training together, I never feel bored and I still feel sore the day after a workout. Dave has an infinite repertoire of exercises and stretches to keep me challenged and to address the various aches and pains that seem to migrate around my body, especially as I get older. As injuries pop up, Dave has the stretches and exercised to help me get balanced and back on track.
This has become increasingly important to me as I move into the latter half of my fifties. My priorities have evolved toward injury prevention; healthy aging and functional training so that I can continue to do the things I love – like traveling, or going on a hike with a friend. Dave helps me work on strength as well as posture, range of motion, mobility and balance. With his expertise I am confident that I will remain active for many, many years. And Dave is a great example of the benefits of having a positive attitude.
I was excited for Dave when he opened his own gym and I got to see how he set up, managed and maintained the beautiful space. The gym was well-organized, equipped with top notch equipment and spotless. Dave pays close attention to detail whether watching my form as I complete an exercise or keeping the gym clean and organized. The gym was well-run and a pleasant place to work out.
Our lives have changed over the years but Dave is consistently there to keep me moving and motivated. He really cares about his clients and how they are doing and he is fun to spend time with. I have teased him that he would be a good therapist because he is calm, steady and has a soothing voice with which to get me a through a challenging workout. I aim to train with Dave for years to come.

”I have known Dave for over 10 years. I first met Dave when I took a boot camp class that he was coaching at the Pro Club Gym. The exercises and drills he made us do were not easy, but he was great at encouraging everyone in his class to try their best and not give up. I took his boot camp class for the better part of the year, but eventually joined a cross-fit gym and stopped taking Dave's class.
I made contact with Dave 3 years ago and since then I've been doing 1:1 training with him - in person and via Zoom. I came to him with lots of aches and pains from cross-fit injuries, and not having worked out for about 2 years, overweight, and 47 years old. I am so thankful to be training with Dave. He took the time to understand my aches and pains and what may be causing them. He focused on my form and coached me on the changes to make. I have been challenged by Dave and he knows my limits and how far he can push and when to ease up. He listens, something not all coaches do well. He will probe to understand the reason I don't want to do a certain exercise, as a means to find an alternate solution. He has taught me a great deal and makes working out fun and inspires me to reach new goals. Dave takes a holistic approach to coaching by focusing not just on exercise, but also providing guidance on sleep, nutrition, and hydration. My aches and pains are gone, and I've made improvement on my overall exercise routine, nutrition, hydration, and sleep patterns. I've even lost weight along the way.
I continue being impressed by Dave's passion to help clients and his ability to meet and connect with them where they're at in their fitness journey. He is caring, attentive, and truly "salt of the earth".

”Dave is an incredibly thoughtful, empathic and effective trainer. Over the 11 years we have been working together, he has helped me build strength and stamina when my body was healthy and regain those attributes during periods of significant physical challenges. He kept me strong enough to delay a knee replacement by 7 years and after the surgery, took the baton from the physical therapist to help me achieve a full recovery. ”I have been training with Dave Macaluso for close to 10 years. I began with group sessions at a local gym and was impressed with how Dave was always prepared, attentive, and motivating. He made personal connections quickly and was never too aggressive or pushy as he inspired me to work harder. After a gap in fitness decided to re-dedicate myself and pursue personalized training, Dave was the only person I considered. I have been in personal training with Dave for the last 6 years. In my late 40s he brought me to fitness levels I hadn’t seen since my 20’s. He did this by constantly adjusting our workouts and challenging me.
